What you are seeing is not a sun setting over the sea, a closer inspection reveals these are in fact miles and miles of serene clouds. So uninterrupted that one could be forgiven if they confused it for calm waters. This occurs within the stratosphere or just above the troposphere when the winds are traveling at low mph.
